Auki Labs is a venture-funded spatial computing startup that’s building the fundamental building blocks of the future AR metaverse, and a new positioning protocol to help every device and person find their place in the world. Literally.

The multi-disciplinary engineering team at Auki Labs is building a platform that enables the world’s first truly social AR experiences, with cross-app interoperability, instant calibration and multipeer positioning. We believe this AR interoperability layer is a crucial building block of the spatial canvas of the future metaverse.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning or in related fields preferred but candidates without a degree are also welcome to apply provided having strong technical knowledge and experience in computer vision.
• At least 5 years of experience in computer vision and/or deep learning for object detection and tracking along with semantic or instance segmentation either in academic or industrial domain.
• Strong foundations in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with machine/deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow, Keras and PyTorch.
• Proficiency in Python and related packages like numpy, scikit-image, PIL, opencv, matplotlib, seaborn, etc.
• Strong experience in using both basic and advanced image processing algorithms for feature engineering.
• Strong software architecture skills and knowledge of software design patterns like MVC, MVCS, SOLID. You’re able to think ahead and create modular and decoupled designs that make it easier to collaborate, iterate and grow.
• Solid experience with training data creation, generation, management and augmentation.
• Ability to transform research articles into the working implementations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce solutions independently and assist the software engineering team with integration. Experience in different model optimization techniques apart from hyper-parameter tuning to reduce memory usage without hindering the performance for deploying on edge devices.
• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or GCP or similar. (We are on AWS)
• Containers. Docker is a natural part of your workflow for both building and deploying your software.
• Experience with CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop deep learning models and computer vision based solutions for semantic segmentation and object reconstruction.
• Lead efforts in producing high-quality training data sets.
• Work on tooling for creating, augmenting, and managing training/validation data sets.
• Work on model/solution performance optimization.
• Collaborate with the software engineering team on integration and implementation of end-to-end solutions.
