Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract)
Biconomy
Biconomy empowers Web3 developers to build seamless, user-friendly dApps that work effortlessly across multiple blockchains. Our battle-tested modular account and execution stack eliminates traditional UX friction points, helping projects accelerate user adoption while reducing development costs. By processing over 70 million transactions across the 300+ dApps we've served, we're powering the future of onchain economies.
The Role: Build Resilient Systems for a Multi-Chain Future
As a DevOps Engineer on our Modular Execution Environment (MEE) team, you will own the cloud and blockchain infrastructure powering our cross-chain protocol stack. You’ll design, implement, and maintain the backend systems supporting supertransaction flows, decentralized validator networks, and scalable off-chain compute infrastructure.
This is a 6-month full-time contract role, starting on or before May 31st, 2025 with the possibility of extension.
You’ll work across the entire MEE infrastructure stack:
Distributed Validator Network – Provision, monitor, and optimize globally distributed validator nodes and bundlers.
Blockchain Node Operations – Setup and manage EVM-compatible L1 and L2 full nodes and indexers with high uptime.
Infrastructure Automation – Build automated pipelines for deployments, monitoring, scaling, and recovery across multi-cloud environments.
Zero-Downtime Systems – Architect resilient, secure, and geo-redundant systems with minimal latency across a multi-region setup.
What Will You Be Doing?
Design and deploy scalable cloud infrastructure using platforms like GCP, AWS, or Digital Ocean.
Architect zero-downtime, geo-redundant systems for blockchain node operations and validator infrastructure.
Build CI/CD pipelines and automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, code deployment, and system monitoring.
Setup, monitor, and maintain EVM-based blockchain full nodes across various networks.
Participate in system design and architecture reviews with a focus on performance, reliability, and fault tolerance.
Proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure issues, implementing automation to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate closely with protocol, backend, and product teams to ensure infrastructure supports core product requirements.
Lead performance tuning, system hardening, and capacity planning efforts.
Maintain security best practices and ensure disaster recovery and failover mechanisms are in place.
-
Own uptime, monitoring, and availability SLAs for mission-critical systems.
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of cloud providers (GCP, AWS) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker).
Proficient in at least one scripting language: Python, Go, Bash, or JavaScript.
Hands-on experience setting up, maintaining, and optimizing EVM-compatible blockchain nodes.
Deep understanding of system monitoring using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Cloudwatch, etc.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi) and automation of deployments.
Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills, including networking and storage.
Understanding of security principles, infrastructure hardening, and access controls.
Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure or validator networks.
Collaborative and proactive mindset; ability to work independently in a fast-moving, globally distributed team.
