About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development (BD) Lead to join our team at Agoric. This role is pivotal in defining the culture of our business development function and will be responsible for growing Agoric’s network of referenceable builders and technology partners. The BD Lead will work closely with the CEO, COO, and executive leadership team to align partner strategies with company objectives.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Pipeline Management: Drive partners through the pipeline to successfully deliver partnerships and projects that enhance the Agoric ecosystem, with success measured by the number of closed relationships.
- Define and Lead BD Culture: Establish and nurture a high-performance business development culture.
- Team Management: Manage a team of two BD professionals, ensuring overall team performance and growth.
- Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with high-quality project partners and technology collaborators.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to assess potential partners and manage contract processes.
- Relationship Management: Maintain and deepen relationships with existing developers and reference partners.
What We Look For In You:
- Proven Experience: 5-8 years of experience in business development or a related role, with demonstrated success, particularly in highly technical software products.
- Crypto Expertise: At least 2-3 years of experience working in an L1 or L2 crypto project, with a deep understanding of the crypto ecosystem.
- CRM Proficiency: Expertise in utilizing CRM software for effective partner management.
- Excellent Communication: Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Team Leadership: Ability to engage and inspire a team to achieve high performance.
Educational Background: Undergraduate degree in a business or a technical field or proven experience. Authorization to work in the U.S.
Location: We are based in the Bay Area but this is a remote position so you can be based anywhere in North America.
